The Society for the Preservation and Advancement of the Harmonica

The Harmonica Club of Greater KC will be hosting the 2005 SPAH convention, an international organization, at the Kansas City Airport Hilton on August 16-20, 2005. SPAH was founded in 1963, and stands for the Society for the Preservation and Advancement of the Harmonica. One of the featured entertainers for the 2005 SPAH convention will be Charlie McCoy, a country studio harmonica player and a main stay on Elvis Presley recordings both in Nashville and Los Angeles. Multi-instrumentalist Charlie McCoy also served as Musical Director for the long running syndicated television series, “Hee-Haw”.  Charlie has won a Grammy Award, two Country Music Association Awards and eight Academy of Country Music Awards and is also a musical legend in Europe.
